Little Creek Ranch was originally part of a larger ranch also known as Little Creek Ranch established in 1868. The ranch has a creek running through it and the creek later became the property lines when the ranch was divided up. The Barn, built in 1870, was used as a stage stop for the Foresthill to Greenwood and during the winter went on to Georgetown. Parts of the old stage trail can be seen through the back portions of the property and down through Gas Canyon. In 1905 the second house was built on the parcel which later served as a post office. By 1980 the house fell into disrepair and Orley Withem divided the ranch again into two more parcels in order to build a new house on the lower portion of the property over looking the creek. By subdividing the property the old house did not have to be destroyed. Orley divided the property so that he could keep the original barn. The barn now sets in the middle of the road causing cars to drive around it. Orley sold the other house and a young couple restored it to its original condition. Orley then built a 3 story 4 level house on the remaining 4.2 acres. He also built several decks giving the house a tree house look. In 1987 Lore and Larry Clarke purchased the home and built a new horse barn on the back side of the property. They also purchased .8 acres from the neighbor making the ranch 5 acres in all. As the property sets today it is 5 acres with a year around creek and pond, hence the name Little Creek Ranch. The Clarkes have not removed any unnecessary trees in the last 14 years leaving the property heavily treed. In 1999 Lore purchased a Zebra for the ranch and when the gate is open you can see it from the road.
